AN HOUR LONG STORM CREATES HUGE DEVASTATION AT GAIRKATA

Webdesk, TNI Gairkata 29^th March, 2016: Major destruction occurred at Gairkata and the suburban areas in last night’s storm. Yesterday night an hour long storm swept the entire area and flew away many things like a pack of cards. There were huge devastations occurred in Gairkata due to the storm. Areas like Telipara, Angrabhasha, Pradhanpara, Gairkata under Sakoijhora 1 Gram Panchayat went under the wrath of the storm. A huge tree of Gairkata fell on a house and smashed it completely. The residents were saved by the grace of God. Light poles were uprooted, tea gardens, forest etc. were devastated. The BDO of Dhupguri Mr. Subhankar Roy told TNI that a surveying is being carried out to estimate the total loss of properties. Action will be taken when the total loss can be assessed.
